The Philippine Football Federation has invited Malaysia and India to play Azkals in October at his home in a friendly match preview two of the major national team competitions next year.
"Nonong" PFF Chief Mariano Araneta Jr. said Friday that the invitation to both squads came after Nepal has refused to invite PFF for a game show on Oct. 6 football field Rizal Memorial.
Playing against Malaysia and India, ranked No. 146 and n. 153 of the Football Association (FIFA), to give the Filipinos the opportunity to assess their level of competitiveness, because it will test the courage of their future rivals AFF Suzuki Cup and the AFC Challenge Cup, Araneta.
"We have invited India for a day on October 6, while Malaysia October 9," Araneta said, noting that Malaysia's response is expected in the next two days.
Malaysia, who beat Indonesia in the finals to 4-2 overall, is the reigning Cup champion Suzuki. The tournament is the same event, where Azkals brush "with fame began to follow their historic semi-final finish last year.
India on the other hand, the 2008 Challenge Cup champion.
India, along with the Philippines, Nepal and five other countries, will play in the final of the 2012 edition scheduled for March.
Araneta said Nepal hosted the Challenge Cup final, declined the invitation because the work schedule conflicts with the Dashain, the biggest festival in Nepal this year, which will keep the occupied territories of Nepal booters.
